On-site training can cut your costs in half!
Since 1984, System Technology Institute has provided industry and government with the fundamentals and guidance for planning, organizing and implementing a support, control and services environment that facilitates Software Configuration Management principles operating in an effective and efficient manner. We constantly strive to push our curriculum forward, bringing you the latest developments and the best practices in your field.
Our courses explore SCM and SQA techniques that are applicable to the Government, military (DoD Directive 5000.1), and commercial industry sectors (ISO9000, ISO9001, SOX), regardless of project size or complexity. These methods assist organizations and their related Information Management and Technology teams in achieving compliance with CMMI, ISO, OMB Memorandum M-05-23, MIL-HDBK-61A and Sarbanes-Oxley Act Section 404.
Multiple baselines, configurations, and deliveries coupled with short development schedules and rapid turnaround of changes are just some of today's software development needs that demand strong, effective, and flexible software configuration management and quality assurance practices. The need to establish SCM and SQA as a process improvement foundation is a critical step in meeting your process improvement goals!

| Certification is a way for candidates to gain specific knowledge followed by a validating examination that demonstrates their capabilities in a practical environment. Organizations with high attention to procedure and best practices encourage their personnel to become Certified Specialists to convey that the organization approaches disciplined development with both theory and knowledge and that it performs in a manner accepted by the relevant standards boards. Candidates receiving certification demonstrate that they are using the best practices to ensure performance and accountability.
Our Certifications do not expire for working professionals. However at the behest of your organization or after five years without active participation in the profession, it is recommended that the student attend refresher courses and/or re-take the Certification exam to demonstrate his or her continued commitment to using the best practices and latest industry developments to ensure performance and accountability.
The fee for STI certification is $375 payable upon exam submittal for grading. To pass, students must receive a grade of 90% or better. If the student does not pass, a copy of the graded and critiqued test will be returned to the student for re-test. System Technology Institute will provide up to two hours of Instructor time to the retesting student. Each retest requires submitting an additional testing fee of $175. Exams are written and in some cases require an oral presentation.
STI has been involved with the Department of Defense Software Engineering Institute (SEI) since 1989. Our certification program, established in 1984, is the longest-standing program in the industry and is recognized by the Navy, NASA and the DoD as well as enterprises such as Lockheed Martin and Boeing.
