Frequently Asked Questions ("FAQ")

Please contact us directly with any questions or concerns that are not answered here. You can also submit an online support ticket for automated response.

How do I confirm my registration?

After you fill out your registration form you should receive a confirmation email within a matter of minutes. If you don't, please check to make sure your email software's "anti-spam" filter didn't block it. Our education services staff will review your registration and contact you if any additional information is needed. Once we finish your registration you will receive your Student ID by email.

You can call our education services staff at 1-888-299-9071 at any time to check on the status of your registration.

Can someone else attend my class?

Yes. If you cannot attend your class you are welcome to send someone in your place. Please contact STI as soon as possible, prior to the beginning of class, so that we can substitute their enrollment for your own.

What are my course prerequisites?

Most courses require a general knowledge and understanding of software system development life cycle processes. Our education services staff will work with you to determine if your background and experience satisfy any prerequisites of a particular course. Some higher-level classes may require a more thorough understanding of the subject matter.

Classes with a class ID in the thousands range have standardized, required prerequisites. For example, 1230 ICM, "Practical Implementation of Software Configuration Management," does require 230 SCM, "Software Configuration Management Fundamentals," or equivalent experience. Our staff will work with you to determine if your situation requires attendance of prerequisite classes.
